Time to Pass
MerriMelde.jpg)
I rescued a horse that
ran in Washington and California named Time to Pass. Hes almost 20 years
old now and lives at the United Pegasus Foundation ranch in Southern
California. I bought him for $200, just as he was about to get on a cattle
truck in Arizona bound for the big slaughter plant in Texas.
Editors note: Time to Pass was bred in Kentucky
by Jerre Paxtons Northwest Farms. As a yearling, he was purchased by
trainer Bud Klokstad, as agent, for $22,000 at the WTBA Summer Yearling Sale
and raced for the Jollie Four Stable of Vernon From, Jim Absher, Tom Absher and
Clark Helle. Tme to Pass is currently the number four all-time leading money
earning WTBA-sold runner. If Time to Pass had been
a Washington-bred, he undoubtedly would have been named champion three-year-old
colt or gelding of his generation, as it was, he was named Most
Successful WTBSC Horse Performing as a Three-year-old in 1991.
