Ken and Marleen were able to stop by Manmouth Park for a visit as they were in New York. Dan Brock is our exercise rider/groom/etc. It seems everyone is smiling. Keep your fingers crossed! "Here are some pictures of the horses schooling in the paddock at Monmouth. I am leaving today to join the crew. It's almost showtime and everyone is getting their game face on. The filly worked lights out on Sunday and we are hoping to represent the Northwest well. The post position draw was held today and Margo's Gift drew the three (3) hole in a field of ten (10). "Here are some recent pictures from Monmouth Park. We are schooling the horses in the saddling paddock during the first race on Wednesday, October 24th. The horses have pretty much completed their preparation and now it is time wait. The weather has turned and it appears we will be racing on an off track. Initially, I was disappointed, but we have been getting off-tracks for the 'big' races all summer at Emerald Downs. We have done quite well on off tracks. Perhaps the weather is a good omen for us. Smarty Deb and Margo's Gift are thriving. They both appear to relish the Monmouth surface, wet or dry. WE ARE READY! Let's get this done." Jeff Wednesday, October 24, 2007

Margo's Gift winning the $250,000 Favorite Trick Breeders' Cup Stakes at Monmouth Park. © Cindy Pierson Dulay From Ed Kane: Doris was ecstatic...we high-fived ten times...Ricky rode a super race...I took some photos in the saddling area and in the paddock...Ricky was covered with mud, but was happy as hell...what fun...I'll talk to Doris some more tomorrow morning at the barns...she is so happy...what a season – 13 stakes wins! Ed Kane's story about Doris Harwood's trip to the Breeders' Cup will appear in the December 2007 issue of Washington Thoroughbred magazine.
